Our Superintendents Notes March 2008

Superintendent's Notes

You will be delighted to know that Revd Peter Green is taking up his responsibilities again after a prolonged time of illness. Please continue to hold him and Helen in your prayers, especially as he prepares for his retirement this summer. Subject to this year's Conference, we will be receiving the Revd Michael Lees and his wife Barbara into the Ruddington / Keyworth / Bradmore Section next September. Please remember them in prayer as they prepare for the new situation.
We rejoice with the members and friends of Ruddington church in the opening of their refurbished premises in January. Pray for them as they seek to use their modem facilities to serve their community and be more effective in their mission.

Regarding Circuit Services this quarter, we have the opportunity to share in the Circuit Network Easter Offering Dedication Service at Tollerton Church on Pentecost Sunday evening 1 1th May at 6.3Opm, when Mrs Sandra Lewer will be the preacher. The following week, Trinity Sunday, we are invited to join in the Circuit Celebration at Bradmore at 6.3Opm. led by Revd Andy Fyall.

At the Circuit Meeting on 5th March we will be discovering how the Connexional initiative ‘Reshaping for Mission' will be introduced. It is about every aspect of our Circuit and churches being examined in the light of the ‘Our Calling' priorities of the Methodist Church. This is to make sure everything we do is taking forward the mission of the church. We are grateful to the Circuit Steward Team who have prepared the documents for us to consider.

I discovered recently that the forty days of Lent do not include the Sundays, as they are considered to be ‘little Easters'. So I pray that as you go through this Lenten season you will discover something more of the love and presence of God in your daily life, and the joy of his resuffection, in Christ our Lord.
