120th Anniversary West Bridgford Methodist Church weekend 19th and 20th April 2008

 

We are invited to join our friends at West Bridgford for these celebrations, details of the programme are as follows:

 

Saturday 19th April 2008

10.00am to 4.00pm:          Church and hall open as cafe, with exhibition and flowers.

                                   Between 10am and 12 noon coffee will be served by members of both adult and young people of the Faith & Light Group.

                                        Light refreshments will be served during the whole period.

                                     

7.00pm to 9.30pm          "Celebration 120" a modern version of the traditional Chapel Concert

                                      During the interval tea and coffee will be served and the launch of the illustrated 80pp Anniversary Brochure,* Faith Hope Love. 120 Years of                                                                   Methodism in West Bridgford will take place.

Sunday 20th April 2008   

10.30am                           Service of Thanksgiving lead by Rev Wes Blakey (Chairman of the District) with Faith and Light Group.

                                      Followed by cutting of Birthday cake and coffee

                                 This will be followed by a Ploughman's lunch (seating for 80, please indicate if you would like to attend, contact Marcia Siefken 0115 9811617)

 

Throughout the weekend the launch of L'Arche Nottingham will take place.  This is an ambitious project to find and run housing locally for people with special needs. The project is growing naturally out of the ecumenical Faith & Light initiative (originally conceived by Jean Vannier) which started six years ago with the support of the Nottingham South Cicruit.  Any profits from the weekend events will go to this project.

Worship stations will be all age.

March 15tb Prayer Breakfast 7.45 for breakfast at 8.00am .As before please let Georgina Youdell or John Heard know if you wish to come.

March 16tb Celtic Holy Communion 6.30pm

March 20th Lent Group lO.OOam Maundy Thursday Service 7.30pm March 21st Good Friday service 1O.30am

March 30tb Tea Time Service

April6tb       Faith and Light Service 10.30am followed by lunch

April 19tb 120th Celebration 120

May 15tb Pastoral Care Course 7.30pm May 18th - 24th A & E Productions Play

As you can see West Bridgford has a busy, interesting few months ahead.
